Emergency substitute teacher kits

Substitute plans that can be handed to another adult and used as written

Emergency absences rarely arrive with time to plan. These kits are written so a folder can be prepared in advance: three complete days per grade, with lessons, guidance, and answer keys already in place.

Kits

Choose a grade level, or take Grades 3 and 4 together

Each kit is written for a single grade level: Grade 3, Grade 4, or Grade 5. The Grades 3 & 4 bundle contains those two complete kits rather than blended lessons; Grade 5 is sold on its own.

Which option fits?

Match the kit to the classroom

Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5 each have their own grade-specific kit. The bundle is the Grade 3 and Grade 4 kits together — it does not include Grade 5, and no lessons are blended across grade levels.

Day structure

Three complete days, written for each grade

Each day is a full day of work rather than a set of loose worksheets, so a substitute can follow it in order.

Day 1

A complete day covering reading, writing, math, and science or social studies, with mixed review, early finisher work, and answer keys available for review.

Day 2

A complete day covering reading, writing, math, and science or social studies, with mixed review, early finisher work, and answer keys available for review.

Day 3

A complete day covering reading, writing, math, and science or social studies, with mixed review, early finisher work, and answer keys available for review.

Included across the days

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Math
  • Science / social studies
  • Mixed review
  • Early finishers
  • Substitute guidance
  • Answer keys

Self-contained core

The core lessons do not require internet access or outside books, so the day does not depend on logins, devices, or a specific classroom library.

Guidance and closeout

Substitute guidance is included alongside the lessons, with early finisher activities for students who finish ahead and answer keys for reviewing completed work.

Before you buy

What these kits are, and what they are not

They are printable substitute day plans with editable classroom-information pages. They are digital downloads only, nothing is shipped, printing is required to use them as intended, and they are grade-specific rather than blended across grade levels.
